I have a retaining wall close to a railroad, and I have figured out the vertical load using the Bousinesq equations. I was wondering how you guys add in the Vertical load? If a surcharge, do you take the whole amount, or do you distribute down through the soil?
Not sure on this, been a while for wood design. Does code require that roof rafters have blocking between them? I saw a building with looked like 2x12 rafters, no blocking at all. Did have hurricane hold downs, so this was the roof.
I wouldnt think that cutting rebar would matter, i would put the anchors at the top and bottom, depending on the look, the bottom could just be a pin into the footing, and not into the wall. At the top, who cares, the moment is 0ish, thus no cracking to worry about? How tall are the panels
