it is ...
even if u put many items with diffirent units..sap2000 still able to organize 'm and give u what u r looking for
check the values of (m.o.elasticity) , stiffness, poison ratio ..maybe they made the difference between the results
hi
regarding the first part of ur question...i guess having the shell element dimension 0.5m*0.5m will give u what u want..but i'm not quite sure that i understood the second part...but anyway if u mean the design moment...u don have to use the maximum value cos it's not true u might use the...
yes there is but most of sap2000 users consider it difficult (they used to do it in the past when using sap90)
sir..
all u have to do is to generate ur geometry using sap 2000 and then use the editable file s2k and generate the solid element the same way as sap90....
and the re import the file...
hi...
of course u should not get the results of the c.l. of the column...cos it doesnot reflect the real thing ...
but what we do we take a 80% of the bending moment measured at a certin distance which is 1/2 of the column offset distance....
hope that would help..
i agree with Ron but i would think 20mm is better be...
we dont have to forget the wieght of this panels ..

so 2 cm is great...i hope that make it logical.
i think sap 2000 and staad 3 will help u very much
also
safe for designing slabs
etabs for designing frames

just visit http://www.csiberkeley.com/

contact me if u need any help
i worked in the design of quay walls and it was 1.25 when check overturning and 1.5 when check sliding...but as eureka said there are a lot of factors affecting this factor of safety.

i hope this could help
