    Arc Flash Mitigation

I have tested and commisioned 2 complete low-voltage (400V) panels with dedicated ARC flash protection (flash sensors + overcurrent) last year. This also was connected to the scada for alarming when a flash (only flash), overcurrent (only overcurrent) or a trip occured. The selectivity included...

    Voltage in France

Panelman, I believe 1kV is valid trough whole Europe now for LV/MV seperation. Depending countries the MV/HV seperation is not so clear, some switch at 50kV, 70kV some at 36kV .... and so one...

    Voltage in France

Gentlemen, it is "moyenne tension" and voltage can differ localy, from city to city or region to region, this comes for history where theyre where more small distribution companies. You still can find many different voltage ranges over the country up to 20kv Like Felixc correctly indicated...

    IEC61850 3rd part engineering tool

JBinCA, I coundn't agree more, I also feel this is a missed oppertunity. When I speak with different manufactures, they all consider that they have found the one and only solution and all other fail to prefrom. I feel there is a lot of protection from the manufactures, in this way the customer...

Detection relay of change of state

Hi sanaly, I believe the only real solution you have, also considering your enviroment is to use a back to back teleprotection. should be able to transmit your signal in (lot) less then 30msec. And also these devices transmit with high security and reliability. There are several available that...

    SF6 for switch gear

To itsmoked, SF6 has high thermal insulation capacity, it has been used in insulating double glas, also because it is a big molecule and therefore is easier to seal. If I'm not mistaken it was even used to fill car/truck tyres because of the reduced leaking possibility. Now all these...

    IEC61850 3rd part engineering tool

JBinCA, No, you can't interchange parameters or setting files over IEC61850 between relays, every manufacturer has a specific firmware for his relays. IEC61850 is a communication protocol no more no less. This does mean however that in your control system you should not make any addaptations...

Verifing KW Transmitter Equals Actual KW

Having it calibrated ? Also there are some testequipment (injectionsets) able to inject current and/or voltage that could be applied. regards, Danny

    IEC61850 3rd part engineering tool

Sorry I forgot to mention, KEMA has got some nice tools (also for diagnostics) for IEC61850 Ethernet networks. I believe they even have a freeware limited version available. regards, Danny

    IEC61850 3rd part engineering tool

How do you define the "Engineering tool" ? - Digsi only works for Siemens relays and bay units - IET or CCT I'm not familiar with so I can't tell. As far as have seen by now, you always need the typical brand software to load your relay parameters (also for the initial IP address you need to...

    Interlocks

Probably your contractor proposed a bay controler that contains the programmable logic to achieve your interlocks by programming. It is generaly accepted now. Of course nothing prevents you of imposing hardwired interlocks. (or do both if you like max. security and complexity) regards, Danny
