    High viscosity clear fluid wanted

Try silicon oil. It is used in labs when you need to heat viscous samples but are required to view the sample during the process. Very stable and probably the right viscosity you are after.

    SAG Mill

I personnally have not seem a SAG this inefficient. If you use very soft rock in a SAG mill it will not work as well as if you use harder rocks. Adjustments to the lifting plates around the circumference of the mill provide greater lift and drop and thus greater efficiency. SAG mills are...

Maximum rate of heating or cooling refractory?

During startup and shutdown of some refractory lined furnaces we had and high temperature storage bins the cooldown rate used for the furnace was from about 900C to 400C over a period of 5-6hours to allow the refractory some time to adjust. These times were recommended by our refractory...

Airflow direction for cooling acoustic engine enclosures

All of our enclosures (over 30) that contain either turbines or piston engines have air forced in. I am yet to come across an enclosure where air is sucked out. If your enclosure is well designed there should be minimal leakage through cracks etc. If these cracks exist then noise from the...

liquid thermal expansion calc - help needed

The equation for thermal expansion of any substance is given by B = 1/V ( dV/ T) where B = thermal expansion coefficient, V = Volume, dV = change in Volume, and T = change in temperature. Your method looks right. Have you checked the units?
