Very low cost PLC with RS232

you need to use a Koyo DL06 or DL205 (with 260 CPU). Each has ASCII input instuctions. www.automationdirect.com Pete

4-20 mA OUT to 1mA IN?

Just installed a new pH controller. New controller has 4-20mA output for data recorder. Old recorder says input sensitivity equals 1mA. Do they mean the input is 0 - 1mA? If so are there any signal converters on the market to convert 4-20mA, or 0-20mA, to 0-1mA? P.S. The recorder is a...

Interfacing DL-205 with an analog source

you can wire them in SERIES but you'll have to recalibrate the first system when done.

    Direct parallel cable

You can't use a standard "straight" through cable.... They make a special cable for this purpose (I forget the name). Maybe someone else on this forum can tell you - but if you go to your local Radio Shack I'm sure they carry it... Good luck

    removing ceiling joists?

I'm planning on converting a small office in my house into a large bathroom. I had an idea last night that seems pretty interesting to me. I would like to remove the ceiling (drywall and ceiling joists) finish the attic portion above the room and make it a vaulted ceiling. I know I'll probably...

    4 - 20mA Maximum Transmission Length

How far can I reliably and accurately transmit a 4-20 mA Signal over a twisted pair shielded cable? I need to go about 150 ft. What AWG cable should I use? I'll be connecting a voltage/current meter with a 4-20mA output to a PLC. Thanks guys, Pete

    tenths, hundredths?

THANK YOU SKILLS... Sorry it has taken me so long to reply but I live in the northeast and we just got hammered with 30 inches of snow... Anyway thanks for the info...I'll see what I can do with it. If you can help me a little more that would be great. This is what I have, and what I need...

    tenths, hundredths?

Thanks Skills, The objective of the system is to measure the nickel concentration of a plating solution. The concentration of a nickel plating solution is measured in g/L, with 6 g/L considered a 100% concentration. The color of a 100% Nickel plating solution is a deep green and lightens...

    tenths, hundredths?

I'm in the conception phase of a new project and wondering if I can use a PLC as the control device. I need to measure the opacity of a solution, most likely using a diode-receiver pair with a proportional voltage output. My question is how precise of a measurement can I obtain with a plc...
