    Thanks for the responses. I wasn't sure if I should consider it as dunking it into a tub of water or taking the volume of water in the voids of the soil and using the weight of this for the bouyant force.

    zennis I have wondered this same thing, from what I have found by asking various cad techs is that its an unchangable autocad feature. There are various pro's and cons of using microstation verses CAD and this is one that goes to microstaion as it only UNDO's normal commands and not navigation...
