Hi everyone, I am looking for functionality about checking a selection of curves on chainability.
This means by box-select [or group] and then run any automation to check the involved curves on "chainability". This could be >1000 elements.
I want to use it on dxf geometry, before WireEDM...
Hi Mark, is it also working if Ihave a predefined toolcarrier, and I drag the operation to the user-defined tool?
I also contacted Andreas Bald, from Siemens, about this issue, giving him your name, would be nice if you contact him also.
Thanks, is important issue for us. Bert
Hi Mark, if possible I would like to send you an E-mail, where Siemens confirms that this is not possible.
Maybe you can contact each other and let me know how to proceed.
Please confirm where I should sent the e-mail.
Thanks, Bert
Hi everyone, we use user-defined tools a lot. We are a extrusion-die shop. When will it be possible to attach feeds/speeds by the machining data library to these kind of tools. It is not supported yet. We can store them in the library, give it numbers anyway, but we can not attach feeds/speeds...
Hi John, thanks for the information, might be usefull. Asked the local Siemens support to look at the possibilities for our company.
However I am still curious about the meaning of other companies and how they deal with this issue. Espacially because you can not compare our die specific drawings...
Hi Everybody, we are a dieshop who is investigating a possible switch to NX. At the moment we use ME10 for our designs, and we reuse this drafting geometry for machining. Were necessary we make a 3d-solid for multi-axis machining [Mill&WEDM].
Anyone experience by using NX as a CAD solution for...
Hi Voran, change to Machine Tool View, double-click on Generic Machine, and then change the Tool Change Time [estimates].
See also attached picture.
Kind regards, Bert Claessenhttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fcd9ef11-0791-4751-9cce-af9ce3285ebd&file=Tool_Change_Time.jpg
Hi everybody does anyone have some more [digital] information about the process studio author to build wizards for manufacturing tasks. I only have, like everybody ofcourse, the NX-help documentation.
Also if anyone knows about training about this subject somewhere near Netherlands or Germany...
The only solution for this moment that seems to work without "special CAM setting" is not to use chamfer but revolved sketch. Also tried narrow tolerance, then suddenly it bugged the other hole ?!?!
I think I have to wait for GTAC answer.
Bert
Hi AGAINSTME, if you postproces the operations the output only creates more points during the transition to the next Z-level. The dies are used for aluminium extrusion, where the chamfer acts like a "break/choke". Any small, within 0.02 mm, deviations are acceptable, but the toolpath-bug is...
Hi Berri, we need to machine the chamfer&hole in one single approach/departure operation, due it is a already hardened die. That is why we choose for Zlevel-profile with ramp-on-part strategy. However I can solve it by creating the chamfer not by chamfer feature but using the revolve-subtract of...
Hi Berri, when I generate your program, I still have the damaged part. I attached a picture to show you where the problem is. It is small but within "world of dies" this is terrible, especially because we start this finish machining after hardening, so already a lot of time spent [and this is a...
Hi everybody, since we upgraded [whatever "up" means], to NX7.5.3 [MP01] we are facing problems with the Zlevel profile operation. When machining a part [hole with chamfer 5mm x 2-degrees] the part is scrapped. When creating the chamfer by revolving a sketch there is no issue? GTAC advised to...
Hi everybody, is it possible to control the text height of a note, used for engraving within manufacturing, by expression. This is meant for the programmers to make it more aesy to change the text-height, and the surrounding text-slot by a single expression value.
Thanks in advance, Bert
Hi Jaydenn, the problem is that the values that are entered when creating the boundaries are drawing-values. I was hoping for a solution something like a hidden switch to overrule this behavour.
