Well I found the main piece which needs to be machined. This is it. I just need to know how to get the tool path for the groove.
Thank you everyone!http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fc8db565-43b7-4406-99a3-dbf00fefb164&file=BIG_Roller.prt
Can someone help in generating a 4 axis tool path for the groove of this part?
I have tried but there are many retracting moves and its not a smooth path.
Thankshttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=8cbfc77f-465b-4f0d-a67c-22d2483c1224&file=Big_Roller_with_Blank.prt
When I try to run a machine tool simulation for milling with a machine that I created
I get this error.
Machine Tool Simulation
Main Parse Error after reading '%'
What could that be? Sometime before I get that error I get another error which says part mount junction error.
Can anyone tell me...
JNieman, Is there a way to replace this automatically for about 2000 lines of code?
Bugie, I simulated this in Vericut and got this result. How can I check if its something with vericut only? or will it be the same in the machine also?
Thanks Mark! I figured out what to do for this. I manually moved the tool of my CNC to the starting point and then continue the code in absolute mode.
Problem Solved!
Hello,
I have been working on a part and have been able to get most of it done thanks to the people here.
I think I'm at the final stage, but I'm stuck at this point. I'm using a post processor I created for this.
After postprocessing, I get the following code at one point.
N1720 X34.18...
I have attached the post processor file and the part files. Can someone tell me what I have to change?http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=7edcc285-de69-4846-b4ac-cbbfdb125dfb&file=Files.rar
After generating the code and postprocessing how do I know from which point the tool will start milling?
Do I have to change the postprocessor for this? or any parameters in the manufacturing operation?
I'm trying to model the attached object. I want to create a solid object with the same curved face.
How to make the spiral surface and to make it tapered? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

hello all,
Its my first time doing a CNC project and I'm confused about how to make a post processor. I modelled the Sherline 2010 CNC and using the machine tool builder I set the axis's. But what do I do next? How do I add the machine to the NX library? I followed the Siemens Tech Tips and...
