You what to know the difference between Workbench Mechanical and Mechanical APLD? Well the solver is basically the same but the big difference is that workbench is more user friendly , and has a better connection with CAD.
Workbench Mechanical is perfectly capable of doing complex beam analsysis.
Dear
This could be caused by the link elements.
Try using 1 element in the cable. The link10 elements in this case are very flexible. Also use a initial strain in the link10 real. constant, this will also make you analyse more stable.
Dear
The procedure you are describing is a non-lin buckling analyse. As you describe buckling in a nlgeom,on can only occur is there is a initial imperfection. This imperfection is often retrieved from the lin-buckling. But also often this is a know situation( product imperfections).
Also good...
Hi
I also had problems with this but after some trial and error. The best way of doing this is using a Joint load--> Accelleration. So you need to define a Revolute joint to ground at the center of the tube.

Hi
In Workbench this can only be done with using a snippet(Commando block).
Make a named selection of the areas where you want to aplly the coating. Name them for instance Coat_Surface
Something like this should be in the snippet
*get,et_max,type,0,num,max
et,et_max+1,shell131
mp,?,et_max+1...
Dear Rupika
What you can do is decrease the number of results to be writen.
Analyse Settings-->Output Controls-->Calculate Results at--> Equally Spaced Time Points.
Otherwise you will need to increace the number of results with the /config command.
