    Concrete material model

Well use smaller elements, set more substeps.

    orient an shell element

Before you define the shell elements use the esys commando the set the element orientation.

Ansys mechanical (static structural) vs mechanical ADPL

You what to know the difference between Workbench Mechanical and Mechanical APLD? Well the solver is basically the same but the big difference is that workbench is more user friendly , and has a better connection with CAD. Workbench Mechanical is perfectly capable of doing complex beam analsysis.

    Concrete material model

Why is it not working? Do you have convergence problems? Be more specific.

    Non Linear Buckling Constraint Simulation

Normally you need to set NLGEOM,on and apply an imperfection to the mesh/model. Than it will be a non-lin buckling.

Select node on the mesh closer to a location x,y,z

Dear Also an option is to use the GETFunctions. Regards

    Contact in Ansys (WB)

What type of contact are you using? Frictionless? Are you appling the load in 1 step? Try to you set a number of substep to apply the load.

Odd behaviour of guy-wires and no stress results

Dear This could be caused by the link elements. Try using 1 element in the cable. The link10 elements in this case are very flexible. Also use a initial strain in the link10 real. constant, this will also make you analyse more stable.

    Buckling in a plate model

Dear The procedure you are describing is a non-lin buckling analyse. As you describe buckling in a nlgeom,on can only occur is there is a initial imperfection. This imperfection is often retrieved from the lin-buckling. But also often this is a know situation( product imperfections). Also good...

Creating An "Assembly" Between DesignModeler and Classic.

Dear smyth13 This can be done with exporting IGES or an ANF file from DM. Regards

Apply Rotation in a Structural-Thermal Ananlysis

Hi I also had problems with this but after some trial and error. The best way of doing this is using a Joint load--> Accelleration. So you need to define a Revolute joint to ground at the center of the tube. Regards Garry

How to handle a uniform coating over a complex object

Hi In Workbench this can only be done with using a snippet(Commando block). Make a named selection of the areas where you want to aplly the coating. Name them for instance Coat_Surface Something like this should be in the snippet *get,et_max,type,0,num,max et,et_max+1,shell131 mp,?,et_max+1...

    Increase number of results

Dear Rupika What you can do is decrease the number of results to be writen. Analyse Settings-->Output Controls-->Calculate Results at--> Equally Spaced Time Points. Otherwise you will need to increace the number of results with the /config command. Regards

    highly distorted elements

Hi The tetra element should behave better under these conditions. Maybe you can try to use the STABILIZE command?

    highly distorted elements

Hi Try using the Solid285 this is a more suitable element for this type of problems.
