Of course during operation, the compressed air with higher pressure will leak into cooling cycle.
but the real problem is when the compressor is stopped, at that time the water will leak into the intercooler and into compressor casing.
if the water is not drained and compressor starts again...
Hi everyone,
Are there any standards or recommended practices describing procedure for dry gas seal performance evaluation? the shape of test rig? and the limits on which the tests are acceptable.
I have a log sheet for dry gas seal test by John Crane, but the procedure is not explained
What...
Thank you guys for your responses
What I meant is to run the turbine at its operating speed but with very low steam, just to rotate it, but there would be no excitation for the generator to produce power.
What could be measured, must be measured exactly.
I Work in Ammonia/Urea Plant in Turbomachinery Maintenance. One of the steam turbines in the plant drives electrical generator to supply the plant with electricity. Sometimes in case of steam shortage in the plant, generator turbine is switched off, and power is supplied from the grid. This can...
It is worth to mention that the lube oil system is one for both turbine and compressor, hence lube oil pressure and temperature are the same for all four bearings.
We've checked also the instrumentation, each bearing temperature on separate module, so there are no chance of instrumentation...
I work in Ammonia plant and we're experiencing a problem in our Ammonia Compressor. The temperatures of both journal bearings of centrifugal ammonia compressor (which is driven by steam turbine directly) increase in spike form, without any change in bearing temperatures of steam turbine, and...
Hello guys,
In the piping specifications for my company, there are three types of flanges:
1- Type C: Raised face Rz=160, machined,
2- Type D: Raised face Rz=40, machined,
3- Type E: Raised face Rz=16, machined
Could anyone explain what is meant by Rz for raised face flanges?
