Antennas for short range HDTV testing...
(OP)
Hi,
we would like to make some tests for HDTV, and we need to set up a short range transmission (max 5m). I would like to know if I can use a simple VHF/UHF dipole antenna, to transmit and another dipole to receive? If not, what antenna should I use?
Thank you for your help!

What frequency antenna do you want to make? You can also just take a coax. cable and strip the outer jacket to make any frequency antenna. Make the center conductor come out 1/4 wavelength, or about Length (inches) = 3000/frequency(in Megahertz), so at 300 Mhz 3000/300= 10 inches. To improve it's bandwidth you can add (solder or metal) more metal to the center conductor, making it physically wider. Essentially make it look like a flag to improve the bandwidth.
