RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

You may be stuck with ‘group F’ or ‘group G’ transformers like
http://www.microntransformers.com/pdf/micron_domestic_webcat.pdf

You might contact CPT manufacturers and see if they know of an adapter/base for DIN-rail mount of their products.  But, isn’t 3½ pounds a bit much for DIN rail?

Thanks Busbar.  I can find only one manufacturer who makes a decent adapter - Prem Magnetics.  We are mounting these transformers horizontally on a panel, so the weight is not a problem - we have actually used a 200 VA rated transformer with no problems.

RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

You can use a separate/stand-alone  220V to 110V trafo connected before the 110V control equipment.

nbucska,

We are trying to make all components rail mounted to allow quick assembly & easy replacement for different options.

Actually the PTD75MQMJ is as follows:

240/480V : 120V
230/460V : 115V
220/440V : 110V

RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

Steve,

I agree. So what is the problem?

RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

Due to voltage line drop I need the voltage to be a nominal 120V not 110V.  Yes, I know that many transformers come in with the secondary voltage a bit high but we have not seen this in the Hammond transformers.

RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

If you use switching power supplies, they should tolerate
a lot of input variation.

RE: DIN Rail Mount Control Transformers

Steve,

What quantities are you looking at? Hammond can supply a 208/120 DIN rail mount in quantity.

amptramp,

This is for a new product so AMU is just a guess.  We will probably buy only 25-100 pieces at first and go from there.

I've sent a request to Hammond on availability of a 208/120 transformer (last week) and still haven't received a reply.
