application of weirs

application of weirs

application of weirs

Does anyone know where discharge coeffients for a sharp nosed broad crested weir can be found.
Also, I need to put a baffle in a tank to reduce turbulance before a pump intake, and I know that there must be a certain amount of clearance. Does anyone know where I can find some information on these two topics?

RE: application of weirs

See if you can find a copy of "Cameron Hydraulic Data" from Ingersoll-Dresser, or "Water And Waste Treatment Data BooK" from Permutit. (The Permutit book's info on weirs is taken from CHD, and is identical.)

As far as the tank baffle goes, see if the pump manfacturer has any information or requirements. For applications like circulating pumps for hot water heating and chilled water loops, some pump makers have a 90* fitting with vanes inside to permit installation in close quarters where you can't get the required number of straight diameters of suction piping simply because there is no room.

Our data is constantly exposed to the danger of being intercepted or stolen as it wends its way over global data networks. Data security measures and measures for protecting intellectual property should not, however, first be implemented when data is exchanged – companies must lay the foundation for these measures within their own organization.
