hello all,

I have recently modelled a contact problem of rubber bending over some steel and now wish to find out the contact area between the two surfaces after deformation.

Thanks for your help again in advance

Conor

You want to use the output variable "CAREA". This will give you exactly what you have described.

Dear Brad,
I have a problem in that the Abaqus software i am using is 6.4 ver but all the manual in my uni are in ver 5.8. I have the complete input file but there is 4 errors which i am unable to trouble shoot. The input file is only for the geometry of the model, no analysis involved. I have tried high and low but i am unable to get any help, would it be possible for someone to help me out??????

thanking you in advance,

regards
Ravi

ravide,I'd advise you to post the problem/errors as a separate topic, it's be much easier to offer help then.
