Hold Time

I need to hold a product (ie.milk) for 360 seconds @ 90C
in a holding tube.
The tube diameter is 0.75" and the flowrate is 300L/h.
What length of tubing will I need to achieve this? I've
calculated 6315 meters, but that seems like alot! Can
someone help me out here.

The pressure in the tubing is about 600psi.
 
The length is calculated by multiplying flow velocity times the required hold time. In your case, 300 L/hr is equal to 5.085 in^3/s. The cross sectional area of 0.75" diameter is 0.442 in^2. Dividing the flow rate by the pipe area gives a fluid velocity of 11.51 in/s. Multiplying the fluid velocity by the hold time give a length of 4114 inches, or 105.2 m, or 345.3 ft.

I made a stupid mistake dividing by 60 to get seconds
instead of 3600 (from L/h ---> L/s)
