Search for rebar tensile test 2,800kN

I am currently looking for a material testing facility of building material products that has the capability of conducting destructive tensile tests on reinforcing bar to ASTM A615 /ASTM A370 standard.

The testing machine will need to be of particularly high calibre as the breaking strain of the bar is 2800kN. The bar is a high grade 63.5mm bar.

I would be most grateful if anyone could direct me to such an institute.

Cheers Big Bars.

RE: Search for rebar tensile test 2,800kN

The Testing Buyers Guide published in the August 2003 issue of Advanced Materials & Processes presents a list of Testing Services offering Mechanical Testing.
By inquiring at the advertisers you can probably find what you need. See   www.asminternational.org/tgb

RE: Search for rebar tensile test 2,800kN

Our laboratory has the following capabilities for tensile testing of reinforcing steel:

600,000 lb. capacity , can grip up to 3.5 inches

The capacity is somewhat less than what you require.

Please contact me at lvitkus@twininglabs.com if we can help out.
