Hello,

I'm looking for an IC that can charge 4 AA batteries and also provide power for the circuit connected to those batteries.

Can someone help me???

Best regards, Carlos Cardoso

Maxim makes lots of IC's with that type of function for laptops

Look also at Benchmarq, they belong to Texas Instruments now, I think.
But more important, look at the applications notes on their web sites. They have many white papers explaining what you can do with the type of batteries that you intend to use. Everything will look much simpler after reading what you can do with their chips.
