Plastic Product Design Guide & Reference

Hi all,

I am a freshie who just join plastic product design field. Just want to know is there any resource or book to recomend that cover the plastic product design criteria ? I will also interested in injection modlding references. Please reply me at ccblade77@yahoo.com . Thankyou

RE: Plastic Product Design Guide & Reference

Try "Plastic Part Design for Injection Molding" by Robert A. Malloy, Hanser/Gardner Publications.  ISBN 1-56990-129-5.  It is the best primer on plastic part design I have found.  Also try the resin supplier's design manuals.  Good Luck.

RE: Plastic Product Design Guide & Reference

GE Plastics website (www.geplastics.com) has free internet seminars on plastic shape design.  It was prettty helpful, though a lot of information to absorb in an hour.

RE: Plastic Product Design Guide & Reference

www.Ticona.com has a european website. There is a literature section where part design manuals can be found.  Specifically, press-fit, snap-fit, and screw insert information can be found. Design calculations for snap fits are there.  very informative.
