Can any one suggest API Separator design basis for sea water service, where maximum load comes from heat exchangers? The outfall joins the sea.

 
The only difference in this case is to consider physical properties of sea water such as specific gravity, viscosity and temperature. Consider Concrete Portland II for basin material and carbon steel protected with epoxy brea for the skimmer. Use the API spec for designing.

Also in the US, we have to comply with EPA 40CFR60 subpart QQQ (among others)
