I am looking for a good reference to a code or standard to apply to design of safety valve vents/stacks. I have a project to reroute the vent stacks of two shell side safety valves and would appreciate any suggestions on this project.

The Crosby Engineering Handbook, CHapter 7, page 12, give reaction force calculations.

Go to Dresser Site and download SRV-1 in Adobe PDF Format.  On Page TI.5 (Page 298 of 350) there is a reaction calculation chart.
