As per the standard?

The same as a horizontal pipe. Why would it be any different?

I have written ( ARAMCO THERMOWELL STANDARD DRAWING ) and search the web with YANDEX BROWSER . The outcome is ;

You may also search the web with Google also but i do not have any idea .

He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock..

RE: Thermowell installation orientation on verical pipe as per Aramco Standard

The drawing is ok, it is a typical standard termowell instalation, but in my opinion it has a dicutible statement.

"7-Flow may be in either direction but orientation is as shown"

I don´t see in the drawing any flow direction! And IMO this influences the erosion in thermo stems so the orientation thermowell fitings can´t be as shown in the drawing without the flow direction.
