Hi, CAD2015:

Normally, I don't use flatten BOMs. I think they do what you need.

You can open assy in SW Treehouse, then open in Excel.

CAD2015,

I would use the "Performance Evaluation" command on the "Evaluate" toolbar & let Solidworks give you the information.

This is at the bottom of the the dialog box that opens.​

It can export the data to Excel. Some users like to do this for some reasons.
