Benefit of Mandrel Testing Wait Period

Benefit of Mandrel Testing Wait Period

Benefit of Mandrel Testing Wait Period

(OP)
There are times when the typical 30-day wait period before pulling a mandrel through a new PVC pipe is very inconvenient, for example when it is below a major intersection. When pushed to get the intersection back open, the contractors typically won't do so until the pipe has been tested an accepted, and I don't blame them. I am curious if anyone has experience with how critical the 30-day wait period for mandrel testing is. Has anyone had any experience with a mandrel test that past initially but then failed after 30 days?

In most of these cases, proper bedding is used and compacted. It seems pretty unlikely that the 30-day wait period will change much.
