API 6A for Gate Valve ? different of API 6D

API 6A for Gate Valve ? different of API 6D

(OP)
Hi,
I need to know if our valves are conform to API 6A.
We know well API 6D but not 6A.
In this case, it's about Gate valve API10000.
Please, if you know some important and severe difference, advise me.
Thank you.

Regards,

J-F

RE: API 6A for Gate Valve ? different of API 6D

There are a number of differences most notably in material, quality, and testing requirements. I suggest you get a hold of a copy of API 6A.

RE: API 6A for Gate Valve ? different of API 6D

The 10000 psi rating is an API 6A rating, and does not exist in 6D. To know if your particular valve meets 6A, you might just call the manufacturer and obtain documentation and literature.

RE: API 6A for Gate Valve ? different of API 6D

1.  API 6A  Wellhead
    API 6D  Pipeline

2.  API 6A/14D  2K to 15K (Pressure Rating)
    API 6D      150 to 2500 (Pressure Rating)

3. Sub-sea is inclusive of API 6A,6D & 14D

Cheers

The above is general information.
