The photo attached shows the plan view of a steel beam connnection to a column.

I want to weld a doubler plate at the beam end to increase the shear capacity as shown, however i am not sure about the welding detail at the beam end.

In order to prevent fatigue failure and corrosion, I propose to weld the doubler plate to the beam web first, then weld them together to the column skin with CJP butt weld as shown, is it applicable? Will there be any difficulty in welding as well as the inspection of UT?
