There are several manufacturers of dust collectors.  Try National Controls.

There are a number of companies that make dust detection or air quality meters.  Check out www.binmaster.com, www.zefon.com or www.bulksystems.com for a few of these companies.  I'm not sure what your application is - clean room monitoring, asbestos, grain dust, general crud in the air - so if your looking to purchase, ask around so you get the system that meets your detection needs.  You might also consider checking with your local Health Department or state EPA office to see what equipment they use for monitoring airborne dusts.  There certainly was plenty of that type work going on in NYC after 9/11.

1.    One is by John Ashe of AAF (American Air Filter) International in Louisville, KY.  (305) 443-9353.  His article is Controlling Welding Fumes in the July, 1997 issue of  The Fabricator.  Reprints of the article are available by calling (800) 477-1214 and asking for reprint # APC-4-905.
