Hi, I'm after some technical adv

(OP)
Hi,

I'm after some technical advice.
I have tried researching to no avail.

I have a mechanical project that requires some suspension. The suspension needs to have the following characteristics.

It needs to be hydraulic or pneumatic.
It needs to be able to respond to an input signal which will be a measure of the force applied to the suspension.
Once it measures force applied it needs to be able to vary the resistance of the suspension through a computer.
It needs to be able to respond quickly (miliseconds).
Is there any type of system that would be able to fulfill such requirements?

If so could anyone point me in the direction of what type of system could be utilised.

Thanks

The rest of us are missing "the big picture". Be that as it may:

Ohlins semi-active motorcycle suspension.

Original-equipment semi-active suspension on certain BMW and Ducati motorcycles.

GM Magneride.

Now, explain to us what you are trying to do that these don't do.

RE: Hi, I'm after some technical adv

Of those Magneride has the highest bandwidth (milliseconds). Of course you could just use a solenoid or voice coil (same thing) or a Moog hydraulic actuator which will easily go to 1000 Hz.

Cheers

Bose developed a wonderful 4 wheel active suspension system a few years ago, based on their voice coil technology. Buick Regal prototype. They drove it from Massachusetts to here in Michigan where Cadillac intended to purchase the system for production model release. Then the bankruptcy. I don't know where it sits now, but that could definitely crush grapes.
