thread578-19529: Conversion from Cadkey DOS to Cadkey Windows

Dear friends,

I'm looking for a conversion utility for very old CADKEY files (PRT and PTN, versions prior to 3.1). The files belonged to a friend of mine who passed away a few weeks ago. I have kept a backup from when he was studying over 30 years ago, but the files cannot be opened with CADKEY 7 and newer.
I will probably need the following tools:
CADTO355.exe (for CADKEY files from versions earlier than 3.55; converts to V3.55)
Cadtov4.exe (for CADKEY files from version 3.55; converts to V4 format)
CADUTIL.exe (for CADKEY files from version 4; converts to the V5 format)

as described in this document: https://kubostatic.kubotek3d.com/sup/kcuassets/les....

I'm looking for these utilities but I haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

RE: CADKEY conversion utility for files prior to version 3.1

I'm happy to report that I finally managed to find the conversion utilities I needed, and they worked like a charm! After converting the files, I was able to open them in CADKEY 7 for MSDOS. I imagine that these files will be compatible with later versions of the program, or even with other software that can import PRT or PTN files. All in all, it was a success!

I found the conversion utilities on the CADKEY website from 2001 archived on archive.org. Here you have the link:

Go to Free CADKEY Utilities and download convert.exe.

You can also download them from this link (it is the link you access when you click the download button):

I hope this information is useful for someone else.
