HELP!! Fiber layers placement software needed!

HELP!! Fiber layers placement software needed!

HELP!! Fiber layers placement software needed!

(OP)
I need software to create the fiber placement diagrams and design the layout of these layers. I´ve checked FiberSIM from Vistagy but it´s very expensive for our small company and does too many things we don´t use. Right now our only needs are the design of the placement scheme, and the hability to print the unfolded view for manual cut.

Thank you!

RE: HELP!! Fiber layers placement software needed!

There is a program called TouchCad.  It might be able to help.  It creates and unfolds 3D shapes.  It has the ability to map scanned information on to the shapes before unfolding.  Perhaps by laying a "fiber image" on to the shapes and then unfolding it, would give a satisfactory result.

Not sure if that would work.  What TouchCad does well is unfold nurb surfaces for hand plotting and cut out.  Of course it does a bunch of other stuff too.

try www.touchcad.com

Have you considered Laminate Tools? (www.anaglyph.co.uk)

Hi Kretsis,

do you have experience with Laminate Tools??

See if you can find a copy of CompositePro.  It does a reasonably good job at an affordable cost.  Don't know if it is still for sale or not, though.
