How to block websites like tik tok, snapchat, etc on telecom modem

(OP)
Hi

Can you please advise how I can block these websites on telecom modem to prevent my children from accessing these on their mobiles, laptops, etc?
Please see comments from our telecom company

Is there an additional device I can install that can block these websites?

RE: How to block websites like tik tok, snapchat, etc on telecom modem

There is possibly a cheap way, but it could be easily deduced by someone, like your kids, who will eventually figure out how to do so. That method, on a PC, replaces the Hosts file in a system directory with one of your own; this is normally used to trap ads by essentially sending the URLS in the file into a null IP address.

see: https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm on how to do so.

The same process is recommended here https://www.gadgets360.com/internet/features/how-t...

Note that this will only work for a short while, while your kids get smarter about the internet, but you can delay it somewhat, by making sure that they use an account that does not have administrator rights to access the Hosts file.
