Plywood layer, fiberglass?

Plywood layer, fiberglass?

Plywood layer, fiberglass?

(OP)
I recently purchased some prefinished 3/4" plywood to make cabinets.
On some cuts I noticed what looks like strands of fiberglass sticking out?
Is this something new manufacture's are doing?
Attached is one example.
