RE: Lubrication of Electric Motors
RE: Lubrication of Electric Motors
I'm trying to set up a motor relubrication schedules for grease lubricated motors based on motor kW rating and Type of service. There is a chart in the CRC Handbook of Lubrication 1991 that I can go by for smaller size motors up to 250 kw but I want to expand it to cover up to 3000 kW. I'm also seeking info on suitable grease base oil viscosities and properties e.g synthetic, EP, etc.

Fink D.G., Beaty H.W. "Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers," 14th Edition, McGraw-Hill, 2000
The grease base oil viscosities and properties will be more on the mechanical/chemical expertise side, in general. It may be worthwhile to post it there too to obtain appropriate information.
