I have an application where I want to measure a very low 0-15 In WC draft pressure in a line that sometimes gets pressure up to 125 PSI. I was planning on putting a very low (1"WC) crack pressure check valve in the line feeding the gauge to protect it. Problem is, when normal draft pressure is being measured, there would be no flow. So... what would happen? Would the gauge "chatter" because the check valve opens and closes, or would it just stay put until the draft changes? Any other flaws in my thinking?

What you need is a pressure limiting valve, not a check valve.
