API 5L Pipes - Inside Shape Not Round - 10K rated Pipes

API 5L Pipes - Inside Shape Not Round - 10K rated Pipes

(OP)
We have some API 10,000 rated Pipes received from the supplier. Material is High Yield Carbon Steel.
They do not have round ID, as expected instead, they have been supplied as hexagonal ID. Since it's not a regular round ID, quality is intending to reject it. API spec is only concerned with OD and thickness, no mention of requirements to ID

Since pressure rating is ultra-high, its a concern, if these can be accepted. Can someone give API's interpretation regarding the Inside Dia/ shape of API Pipes?

RE: API 5L Pipes - Inside Shape Not Round - 10K rated Pipes

API Spec 5L doesn’t have a grade “10,000”. What PSL and grade was ordered. Picture has the appearance of forged bar.

RE: API 5L Pipes - Inside Shape Not Round - 10K rated Pipes

Holy shit, that's thick pipe.

API 10000 sounds like API 6A pipe

A bit odd but nice rounded corners so I can't see too much wrong with it.

But define the actual spec used please.

Remember - More details = better answers

Thanks for the replies. Its a PSL 2 Pipe. ASME B 36.10M-B36.19M NPS 2
GR X65 Pipe has been extruded via hexagonal mandrel. Yield Strength 450 MPa. Max Ultimate Pressure is 2468 Barg, Test Pressure 1029 Barg
