Hi all,

I am doing a Pipe Stress analysis on CAESAR II for a LNG system of a vessel. There came up a special clients requirement to add support stiffness factor (K) and check for equipment nozzle allowable. I got this stiffness value from Structure and when I re-run the system nozzle loads are exceeding the allowable by 3 times. There is no scope of rerouting the pipe to adjust the nozzle loads because of space issues.

My question:

Do I need to need give Stiffness in both vertical axis of the rest support & in horizontal axis of the support (Guide or Line stop)?
Do I also need to give Stiffness for the equipment supports?
Do I need to consider Stiffness for all the supports in the system or just few near by supports to the equipment nozzle?

This is the first time I am working on Stiffness on supports and no idea how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Green
