May I look on diaphragm design forces Fpx as shears in diaphragms?
May I look on diaphragm design forces Fpx as shears in diaphragms?
(OP)
See ASCE 12.10.1.1 “floor and roof diaphragms shall be designed to resist design seismic forces …………… in accordance with eq. 12.10-1”.
If I design a floor diaphragm (wood structure), or slab (concrete or steel structure), May I use Fpx (calculated from 12.10-1) divided by the floor length as a unit shear of the floor? Thanks

You may look to the following docs.. or you may provide better info. ( structural plan, seismicity etc..) to get better responds..
