Pump Design Manual

I'm looking to improve our library and was wondering if anyone could offer any recommendations on a good book(s) about pumps and pump design.

RE: Pump Design Manual

I recommend getting Pumping Station Design by Sanks, 2nd edition. Deals with pump stations overall in a general sense with lots of details about 1000 pgs.

RE: Pump Design Manual

"Centrifugal Pumps" by Karassik and McGuire. Kulwer Academic Press.

Cameron's Hydraulic Manual. Great handbook. It is published by INgersoll-Dresser. If you go to their website you can probably find out how to buy a copy.

fatbrain.com has a good resource for finding and buying technical books.

Good luck?

RE: Pump Design Manual

Two strong picks:

(1) Centrifugal and Axial Flow Pumps 2nd Ed., A.J. Stepanoff, Krieger Publishing

(2) Pump Handbook, 3rd Ed, Karassik/Messina/Cooper/Heald, McGraw-Hill Publishing

Cameron Hydraulic Data is now produced by Flowserve since they bought the Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Co.  A good quick reference book.

Hope this helps.

RE: Pump Design Manual

The latest World Pumps magazine had an article there on the latest software for backwards design of pumps and their constituent components . It looked very impressive.

The magazine is on their website . Unfortunately I tossed my copy out.

Thanks all, I'm getting a few of your choices and I'll let you know what I think after I've read them.
