Existing wall construction consists of timber frame with particle board sheathing and is covered with continuous mineral wool insulation. Vertical battens for rainscreen are attached to bearing structure using screws and PVC standoffs to minimize thermal bridging. The construction holds just fine under ~150N vertical load per connection.

In a few cases battens must also support significantly higher side loads from window shutters, lets say 600N (see detail below). I am not sure how to calculate maximum lateral load such connection can withstand. Can this be treated as a shear joint between two timber members assuming that the standoff does not deform under compression?
