Hello.
I am bending some stainless steel wire to make bicycles and what not, tipically the wire I use ranges between 1/16 - 3/32 in diameter. A local wire supplier can sell me wire in winding of 20in in diameter and I need to straighten it and cut it in pieces that I can use. I use hard and soft stainless steel wire.

So I came upon the straightener design that uses 5 bearings and I would like to try it out, but before I rush out to buy bearings, I would like to inquire if there are some common knowledge about this topic and given the 1/16 - 3/32 range of wire diameter I am using maybe there is an optimal diameter for V groove bearings and spacings.

Could anyone help or give more insight?

Searched some info online, found Sjogren wire straighteners and from the info picked up there, the rollers(bearings) I need are OD 30mm ID 10mm W 14mm.
Bottom row (fixed) can be from 3 to 5 rollers all spaced 40 mm apart. Top row (adjustable one) from 2 to 4 rollers shifted 20 mm and spaced 40mm.
Using 5 rollers in total, 3 bottom and 2 top is the basic config I think. Going to have to play with adjustable rollers to find the result I want.
