Greetings everyone,
I'm involved in a project that requires lowering a live pipeline, currently laid on the surface, into a trench.
We have worked out the requirements according to API RP 1117, however we are having trouble working out a detail that is out of scope of the recommended practice. It involves the limits of the pipeline. We have flanged joints, valves and fittings on both ends of the pipeline that will be lowered. To avoid subjecting these elements to the stresses involved in the movement maneuver we are planning to instal a stop support at both ends of the pipeline. The problem is that we haven't been able to work out the load at the stops for its design.
I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has had any experience with this matter.

The line is 1390 ft long, NPS 6" SCH STD API 5L Gr.B , trench depth 4 ft, design pressure 238 psi, design temperature 180F.
