I have a job that requires 20'-30' retaining walls and 1H:1V reinforced soil slopes for site development. Everything is very preliminary at the moment but the Civil is currently showing large stormwater infiltration systems very close to the walls and slopes. Close enough to make anyone start sweating. Rear chimney and blanket drains will be required.

At what distance between a RSS or Wall would you start to consider installing a cutoff wall? Does anyone know of an analysis to simulate water infiltrating behind the slopes or walls? Anyone have a rule of thumb or some general advice? Running is not one of them :)
