I am planning to build a hydraulic forging using
an Enerpac 500 ton 12" stroke cylinder and a four post
design. I need advice on the post material (4142?)
diameter (2.5"?), and threading. I assume a buttress thread
in the 4-6 tpi range and buying commercial grade 5-8
hex nuts. Base and top platten from 3" A36 plate with
welded reinforcing web.
