This alarm:"Another Sync Channel Has Been Selected" continuously pops up on CitectSCADA 2015 and cannot remote sync from CitectSCADA. There is a ABB Synchrotact 5 that controls the synchronization of the generator.CitectSCADA 2015 reads off from Ge PLC register (%R00007)and the comments says;"Sync panel 1 selection feedback-DI Register.What inputs/outputs of the ABB Synchrotact 5 would generate this alarm on CitectSCADA 2015?Thank you

This is why generators should not be operated in parellel.

You're a funny guy, MBrooke.

OP: Have you inquired with the supplier / manufacturer / consultant? Is this a new problem?

If generators were not operated in parallel Texas would not be the only place sitting in the cold and dark.

Not just a good idea;
It's the LAW!

On a grid level paralleling has its benefits, but if this is a stand alone or back-up system I would look at keeping things simple unless paralleling was absolutely required.

Perhaps I'm just a bit jaded.

But anyways, as others have said, have you contacted the manufacturer?

There's so many possibilities between the SCADA platform and the sync relay that its impossible to provide useful suggestions based on the information provided.
Are there any manuals provided with the system that may provide guidance?
Failing that, have you asked the Systems Integrator that provided the system if possible?
