Hi Guys

I am currently doing an audit for some conveyor designs where the client has raised some concerns with regards to the structural integrity (the full story is a bit more complicated then this)

The design company has sent through a whole bunch of information. I am currently just doing a very high level review of what they have done. They are using the AISC for design.

I would like to know if Staad Pro has the ability to perform design on angle sections subjected to bending and axial loads? I know this can be done using the AISC design code however not sure if such is supported by the software as I have seen a number of vendors who only perform design on the commonly used sections such as I-sections and channels, while angles are only considered for axial loads...

RE: Bentley Staad Pro design capabilities

We certainly do design angle members for combined actions like this in STAAD.Pro. It's one of the more complicated designs in AISC and one should be using the latest version (22.05.00.131) if possible.

Hi SethGuthrie

Thanks for the response.

I managed to hold of the local sales office who managed to help out with my query also.
