Armco Steel Corp Steel Joists

Want to re-purpose a warehose with 40 foot spans of steel joist with the following tag: ARMCO STEEL CORP 282 24H8 J6
How do I interpret this tag and find the information on the age and load capacity of these joists? I went to http://www.slideruleera.net/ and found information on some Armco joists - but not anything that made sense (to me) with this joist tag.

What's your role? Are you the structural engineer doing a feasibility study, the owner, or somebody else? The answer to that question will dictate the way your question is answered...

If you are equipped to interpret this, call or write the Steel Joint Institute (SJI). I suspect that the tag number is enough to get the capacity of the joist.
If you're not a structural engineer, you probably need one.
