Hello,
I have a question regarding 3300 XL 8mm Proximity Transducer System. From the data sheet, this instrument has a Ui of -28V. The 3500/04 barrier has a U0 of 27.45V.

My question is Can this satisfy the intrinsic relation that Ui is greater then or equal to U0?

Thanks

The device HAS to state that it's intrinsically safe on it. This is because while the barrier will limit current they have no say or knowledge about the inductance or capacitance of the device being powered. That means a device could easily store energy over time then fail internally and deliver that stored energy into its own fault. That energy could easily exceed the initiation energy needed to ignite the environment.

Only "simple" devices don't require an IS rating on them, a resistor, thermocouple, RTD, etc.
