Drafting Standards and Weld Symbol Associativity on 3DX

Drafting Standards and Weld Symbol Associativity on 3DX

(OP)
We're trying to sort out the ins and outs of using the Weld Design app on Catia 3DX, but have run into an issue that we've been unable to understand. I'm specifically using 3DX R2020x FD02 today, but I suspect this is a much more general question not related to the specific version.

Step 1) Create the weldment product, create the 3D Welds.
Step 2) Create a new drawing and insert views, with the Generative View Styles set to generate welds.
Step 3) Create a weld symbol annotation on the view that is perpendicular to the weld, by clicking on the weld in the view and then clicking on the sheet to place the symbol.

Result: The weld symbol is created on the drawing view, with all the parameters and details filled in, per the 3D weld spec. But this only happens when using an ISO drafting standard.

Problem: When using an ANSI/ASME (or JIS) drafting standard, the weld symbol is created on the drawing view with no parameters and details filled in. It's the same result as just creating a weld symbol anywhere else, except that query links does show a link to the 3D weld spec.

Question: Is only the ISO standard supported? Being in the US, I'm familiar with AWS standard notation, and I think our suppliers are also. Is there something that has to happen to enable AWS / ANSI style notation, along with the 3D weld associativity?

I've been through the help docs and administrator guides and online forums and haven't found this question addressed. Hoping somebody has some light to shed on the topic.

Thanks very much
Mark

Just in case anybody was curious about this topic, here's an update.
Our VAR has researched the question and stated that Catia doesn't support associativity between 3D welds and drafting annotations with ANSI and JIS drafting standards, only ISO. At least, that's the present condition.

Thanks for sharing the results!
