Hi I'm looking for a friction bearing that will engage on a shaft once it sees a rapid acceleration. I guess this would be similar to a one way bearing but only engage if a high rate of acceleration is see. Any one have any ideas on what type of bearing this could be?

How many thousands of them do you need per working day?

You want engagement when the shaft sees "rapid" acceleration ?
Are you concerned about the acceleration but not the rotating speed of the shaft?

Do you say "friction bearing" because you want the bearing to prevent the shaft from accelerating "rapidly."

It might be helpful to define "rapid."
