Simsolid accuracy

Simsolid accuracy

(OP)
I'm looking for any information on the accuracy of simsolid. Is it like discovery live where you can make adjustments to increase accuracy at the expense of speed? How accurate is it? Looking for validation studies from users, not vendors.

RE: Simsolid accuracy

Newest NAFEMS Benchmark magazine (january 2020) features an article titled "Designer Oriented Software - Is it Accurate?" where several benchmarks were used to test the accuracy of SimSolid. Besides that Altair shares its Verification Manual for free. I think that it can be trusted since it's easy to perform such benchmark tests on your own.

RE: Simsolid accuracy

FEA way is correct - both are good sources for V&V of SimSolid. the NAFEMS paper looks like a vendor sponsored paper but is not. There is also a straight from the user mouth video where a user in oil and gas talks about how he has checked the accuracy. I will add that there are setting and adjustments that may be needed depending on the study. They can have a pretty big impact on accuracy as with any CAE tool. The video is here:
