Best Reference For Mechanical Power Transmission in Cars

I've got my copies of Bruhn, Roark's, AISC, etc. Which book is the primary reference for engineering mechanical power transmission in cars? The book would included breaking down elements individually, like bearings, CV joints, different varieties of gears, clutches, and shafts and perhaps also losses in driven versus non driven tires. It may well be that such a book is not car specific.
I would like to compare/calculate the efficiencies of various drivetrain layouts with numbers and methods that are meaningful. I see a lot of numbers bandied about here, but no sources given. I am particularly interested in how the losses of elements in series and parallel are calculated from the flywheel to the ground.

Unfortunately it is not much use for hypoid diffs.
